Chris Mills was born in the city of Leicester and graduated in Art and English with the University of Liverpool in 1990. He lives in Leicestershire, in the English Midlands, and has provided art and illustration for a number of leading publishers

"I work with acrylics on paper or board, often using printed relief or stenciled elements in addition to brushwork. Paintings range from semi to full abstraction and I enjoy both the freedom and considered thought involved with overlayed fields of texture and colour. Concurrently, painting is rather like a tightrope act between random and controlled forces, and also between the pictorial/interpretive value of a painting and its physical values. I feel that the most interesting results can arise from these dualities".
