Russell Hatton is a burgeoning talent on the UK art scene, attracting huge aclaim wherever he exhibits his work. Over the past five years, Russell's mesmerising abstract paintings have found enormous success, securing an international profile with sales to both private and commercial collectors as far afield as Dubai, America and Australia.

Rooted in his experience of painting commercial vehicles, Russell's work possesses an integrity and professionalism based upon commitment and quality, combined with spontaneity and desire for exploration. In addition, Russell has developed an intricate understanding of the materials he works with; thus realising its creative potential beyond industrial use.

His extensive knowledge and skill with high-tech commercial paints allowed him to create abstract works with colours and a surface never before seen. Using extreme high pressures to apply the paint onto the aluminium surfaces, the reults are an attempt to control the chaotic, an alarming analogy of his life.

Hatton's application of paint has proved him to be a master of colour. Acrylic, water-based metallic, xyrallic, pearlescent and holographic paints are applied over an aluminium surface. The paint is layered several times and then immaculately polished by hand, creating a richness that cannot be achieved with traditional paints. The finished pieces thrive on natural light as the reflective surfaces, finished by a graduated sanding down process, bounce the light against their colouration and imagery. This pursuit of colour results in a visual experience that is truly unique.

This work is also suitable for outdoor installation. Commissions are welcomed.
