Abigail Hartley's 'Stains' comprises photography, knitted sculpture and weave patterns and its intention is to communicate the importance of something which we see and effectively look past everyday.

It is an intricate project, each component is relative to the other and beautiful in a non-conforming way. The work is based around something ugly, materials you would find in junkyards and scrap heaps, reused to form something unusual and significant.

Its purpose is a new status in a new form, using old, recycled material; one must look beyond the material, at the delicacy and detail that is in effect something new. Abigail is studying BA Textile Design at Central St Martins.
