I very rarely paint with blue. Maybe it's because I see the ocean every day and the colours fade to the back of my mind, but here in Year of the Dog I openly let the blues come forward. The soft colours soon dictated the whole mood of this painting . I called it the year of the dog after my best friend who is a Dog in the Chinese horoscopes and she was on my mind all day while I painted this........I love the flow of the paint, it reminds me of Chinese brush strokes.....
