Mila Furstova is a storyteller. Her stories are both contemporary and personel, yet they reference art and story, culture and mythology.

The best art operates on many levels, it may be sensual, thought provoking, well crafted, beautyfull. Mila's work is all of these things, I think it is also true to say tha her work speaks with a distinctly female voice.

Mila began making images in etching and has produced an exquisite body of work, pushing the boundaries of the medium whilst revelling luxuriously in the tradition. She has experimenteed in different areas of printmarking. The resulting prints, a subtl mix of textures, materials and processes are instantly recognizable and well know in the print world.

Like all serious artist Mila is keen to take on new challenges and to embrace change. In the new artworks, which take the form of unique printed constructions, she has created compelling and sensitive images. This new body of work demonstrates Mila to be an exceptional artist printmaker. It has been a delight to watch her developmen over the last 10 years.
