Caroline worked as a television reporter and presenter for the BBC for 15 years before moving to Berlin in 2000 with her family. Graduated from Winchester School of Art with a first class honours degree in Visual Art in 2004, and completed a Masters in Painting in 2007.

Artists Statement

All my paintings have their roots in the moving image; zooms, pans, focus pulls, freeze frames, wipes and mixes. My previous profession as a video producer informs my work and provides me with a springboard. The ‘pixel’ paintings are inspired by deliberately abstracted film which is projected onto the canvas surface in an endless loop. This ongoing series documents my attempts to capture a series of moments without eliminating the energy and momentum of time. I am seduced by colour, but I am intrigued by the transient and the tangible; time speeded up and time slowed to a standstill.
